Permanent Makeup and Microblading
IN ST. LOUIS, MO

Makeup is often used to enhance the eyes, lips and other parts of the face. However, applying makeup on a daily basis can be time-consuming and tiresome. With permanent makeup or microblading treatments at Parkcrest Plastic Surgery, patients can achieve long-lasting results that eliminate the need for daily makeup use. We offer these services to residents of St. Louis, Chesterfield, St. Charles and the neighboring areas of Missouri.

What are Permanent Makeup and Microblading?

Permanent makeup and microblading are semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo techniques that can be used to enhance the lips, eyebrows, and eyes. Microblading is a treatment that is used specifically for the eyebrows. It can be used to create the appearance of thicker, fuller and darker eyebrows by tattooing individual strokes to look like natural hairs. Permanent makeup uses a similar technique to enhance the eyes and lips. With permanent makeup for the lips, patients can enhance the shape and color of their lips, eliminating scars in the process. Permanent makeup can also be used on the eyes to produce the appearance of eyeliner.

How Much Does Permanent Makeup and Microblading Cost?

The cost of your permanent makeup or microblading treatment will depend on the type of treatment performed and the extent of treatment needed to deliver your desired results. Insurance companies consider these treatments to be elective procedures, so they are not covered by policies. To make cosmetic treatments more accessible to more patients, Parkcrest Plastic Surgery offers financing. We also accept cash, major credit cards, or a personal check.

How Does Permanent Makeup and Microblading Work?

Both permanent makeup and microblading use a needle device to place pigments into the skin, much like the standard tattoo process. By using varying sizes and numbers of needles, the results from permanent makeup and microblading can look incredibly natural to resemble fine hairs, or can be thick enough to enhance the eyes and mouth. During the treatment, the selected pigment is placed into the dermis of the skin, where they will last for a long time.

What are the Permanent Makeup and Microblading Treatments Like?

At Parkcrest Plastic Surgery, our permanent makeup and microblading treatments are performed by Janice Lewis, L.E., who is licensed in permanent cosmetics and has been performing the procedures for more than 15 years. Before treatment, you will discuss your goals with Janice to determine the best color and approach for your cosmetic needs. Then, we will apply a topical anesthetic to the skin to minimize any discomfort. Finally, the selected pigment will be tattooed to the skin using a needle device.

What Can I Expect After My Permanent Makeup or Microblading Treatment?

After your treatment, you can expect the skin to be slightly swollen and red. These effects are common and should fade within a week. You may also notice that the color of your permanent makeup is dark or shiny. As the skin heals, the color will fade to the desired shade. Most patients achieve their final results within about three weeks of treatment.

How Long Do the Results from Permanent Makeup and Microblading Last?

The term “permanent” makeup can be misleading, because the results from your treatment may not necessarily last forever. You can expect your results to last for many years, but the color may fade gradually over time. Hygiene habits, makeup use, and your skin type will all contribute to the rate at which the results from your permanent makeup treatment fade. However, additional treatments can be easily performed to restore color to faded areas and maintain your results.
