Dr. Charles Nathan, a board certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon, is a native of St. Louis, MO. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. He completed five years of general surgery training at The Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans and completed his board certification in general surgery. Dr. Nathan completed his plastic surgery training at the Lahey Clinic in Boston. His training in Boston included rotations at the esteemed Brigham and Womens Hospital and Boston Childrens Hospital. After completing his plastic surgery training, he moved back to St. Louis and joined Parkcrest Surgical. Dr. Nathan is a highly educated and dedicated plastic surgeon, with a friendly and caring patient philosophy.
Dr Nathan has had extensive experience in reconstructive and cosmetic procedures and wishes to provide the most up to date procedures to his patients. His cosmetic procedures include breast augmentation with saline, silicone and highly cohesive shaped implants, breast lifts, tummy tucks, traditional liposuction, Vaser liposuction and in-office Smart Lipo. Facial fat injections, fillers, Botox®, facelifts and eyelid surgery help provide a more rejuvenated appearance.
Dr Nathan utilizes the Vectra 3D breast imaging and simulator to aid in the breast implant selection and to provide a simulation of post-operative augmentation results. This tool is a simulation but helps women see what their breasts may look like enhanced with different size and types of implants.

Highly cohesive Shaped Implants (“Gummy Bear” Implant)
Dr. Nathan has been an Allergan Clinical investigator since 2001 and was involved in the clinical trials for the Allergan 410 highly cohesive implant (“Gummy bear” implant). Gummy bear implants offer women a more cohesive (thicker) silicone gel in a anatomic shape that helps maintain a natural result.
Dr Nathan lectured across the country helping train other surgeons in the use of the Allergan 410 implant after it became FDA approved in Feb 2013. Dr. Nathan and Dr. Mcguire have experience in over 900 patients with the Allergan 410 implants in breast augmentation and breast reconstruction.
Dr. Nathan and Dr. McGuire’s experience was presented in a paper at the International Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons in Melbourne, Australia in February of 2008. Dr. McGuire is one of four plastic surgeons chosen to be a consultant for the curriculum committee for Allergan to teach other physicians how to use the Style 410 implant. Both Dr. Nathan and Dr. McGuire spent time in Stockholm, Sweden in June 2006 with Dr. Charles Randquist, considered an international expert in the use of the Style 410 implant. Dr. Nathan and McGuire also have extensive experience with other options for breast implants including silicone gel and saline implants. They use dimensional planning, using the patient’s anatomy to determine the best option for each patient. The Style 410 implant is not always the best choice for breast augmentation and their experience with all types of implants, including the Style 410, can help a patient decide which implant is best for them.
