What Is Volbella® XC?
Volbella® XC is an injectable dermal filler consisting of hyaluronic acid, a substance which naturally occurs in the body. Volbella® XC can be used to smooth or soften age-related changes in and around the lips and provide a more youthful appearance to the lips. Typically, Volbella® XC is used to restore a more youthful appearance. Volbella® XC is most commonly used for the following:
- Lips, for enhanced volume and to reduce wrinkles and creases in or around the lips
- Smoothing vertical creases in or around the lips
- Achieve symmetry due to uneven lips or contours

How Is Volbella® XC Administered?
Volbella® XC injections take around 15 minutes to administer. The hyaluronic acid filler is injected into the dermis with a very fine needle, just a few millimeters beneath the surface of the skin. The hyaluronic acid molecules naturally draw in water and cause the tissue beneath the lips or treatment area to remain smoother. This process fills out the wrinkles and gives the skin a smoother surface. The process is usually painless although an anesthetic cream or anesthetic block may sometimes be used for your comfort.
