At Parkcrest Plastic Surgery, Perlane® injections have become very popular as a non-surgical injection treatment. Perlane® is an excellent way to tackle the following concerns:

  • Wrinkle correction
  • Diminishing worry lines, smile lines, crow’s feet, marionette lines at corners of the mouth, and smoker’s lines
  • Lip enhancement
  • Reducing the severity of nasolabial folds
  • Chin augmentation
  • Filling cheek depressions
  • Redefining lip border
  • Softening acne scars
  • Hand rejuvenation

Other, less common, uses for Perlane filler include:

  • Filling hollows under the eyes
  • Creating a temporary eyebrow lift
  • Correcting facial depressions caused by fat loss
  • Softening the appearance of jowls

What Are Perlane® Injections and How Are They Performed?

Perlane® is a non-surgical procedure that softens facial lines and furrows, such as those around the eyes and mouth. Tiny quantities of hyaluronic acid are injected through very fine needles, boosting the skin’s own hyaluronic acid, which plumps up the treated skin. Perlane® injections are very popular as the effects are immediately visible.

Perlane® injections take around 15 to 30 minutes to administer. Perlane® is injected into the dermis with a very fine needle, just a few millimeters beneath the surface of the skin. The hyaluronic acid in Perlane supplements the body’s natural supply, which becomes depleted with age. Perlane is biodegradable, so its effects are not permanent. The results of a Perlane filler treatment tend to last six months to a year. This is much longer than the typical results of collagen injections, which may only last three to six months.

Perlane does not make you numb. Perlane simply reduces the visibility of wrinkles and folds.
For patients in St. Louis and surrounding areas searching for Perlane®, Parkcrest Plastic Surgery is the answer. If you who want to improve your facial appearance but do not want the cost, risk, or downtime associated with invasive cosmetic surgery, schedule a consultation with our office today.

Perlane® Injections Recovery and Healing

Depending on the area treated, most people can return to work straight away after treatment with Perlane® injections.
Normal activities after Perlane® can usually be resumed immediately, and discomfort is minimal. The treatment site may have a little swelling, which may last a few hours. There may be some slight bruising which can be covered with make-up. If the lips are treated, initial swelling and tenderness may occur within the first several days, but subsides after 2 – 3 days.

You may need to return to Parkcrest Plastic Surgery in two to three weeks so that the results can be checked and touched up with more Perlane® injections if necessary. After that, you should not need to return for Perlane® for around six to nine months.
