Initial Consultation

Image 3Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation explaining your diagnosis and treatment options. Occasionally, minor procedures can be done the same day as the consultation. However, a complex medical history or treatment plan will require an evaluation and a second appointment to provide treatment on another day.

Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your consultation:

  • Your surgical referral slip and any X-rays if applicable
  • A list of medications you are presently taking
  • If you have medical insurance, bring the necessary completed forms. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.

IMPORTANT: All patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation visit.

Detailed preoperative and postoperative instructions will be provided by the office. Please follow these carefully. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact us at any time. If your surgery is scheduled at a hospital or surgery center, they may provide their own generic set of pre- and postoperative instructions. If there is any discrepancy between these, please contact us so that we can answer any questions that you might have.

Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, anticoagulant therapy, etc.)

X-Ray

If your physician has taken X-Rays, you may request that they forward them to our office. If there is not enough time, please pick them up and bring them to our office.
In Case of Emergency

A vital part of our service is being available for your emergency needs. Please explain your problem to our receptionist, who will make appropriate arrangements for you. Our doctors provide 24-hour emergency coverage.

After hours you can reach the surgeon on call by calling our regular office number at 314.569.0130 which will refer you to the Physician's Exchange. The operator on duty will relay your message to the doctor, who will return your call.
