- Marionette lines (oral commissures) – lines at the side of the mouth

- Deep smile lines (nasolabial furrows)
- Cheek depressions
- Lip border re-definition
- Acne scars
- Certain facial scars
What Are Juvéderm® Injections and How Are They Performed?
Hyaluronic acid treatment using a dermal filler is a popular solution for facial augmentation. It is a non-surgical procedure that softens facial lines and furrows, such as those around the eyes and mouth. Tiny quantities of hyaluronic acid are injected under the skin, boosting the skin’s own hyaluronic acid, which plumps up the treated area.
Juvéderm® injections in St. Louis take around 15 to 30 minutes to administer. The hyaluronic acid filler is injected into the dermis with a very fine needle, just a few millimeters beneath the surface of the skin. The hyaluronic acid molecules naturally draw in water and cause the tissue beneath the lines and wrinkles to swell. This process fills out the wrinkles and gives the skin a smoother surface. The process is usually painless although an anesthetic cream or anesthetic block may sometimes be used for your comfort.
The effects can be maintained by small “touch-up” treatments as required about twice a year. At Parkcrest Plastic Surgery, Juvéderm® injections are safe, non-invasive and give great long-lasting results.
Juvéderm® Ultra treatments may be suitable for people who want to improve their facial appearance but do not want the cost, risk, or downtime associated with invasive cosmetic surgery.
Juvéderm® Recovery and Healing
Depending on the area treated and which filler is used, treatment times can vary from around 15 minutes to an hour, and recovery time can be from a few hours to a few days. Most people can return to work straight away after treatment with Juvéderm®.
Normal activities after Juvéderm® can usually be resumed immediately, and discomfort is minimal. The treatment site may be a little swollen, which may last a few hours. There may be some slight bruising which can be covered with make-up. If the lips have been treated, initial swelling and tenderness may occur within the first several days but subsides after two or three days.
You may need to return to Parkcrest Plastic Surgery in two to three weeks so that the results can be checked and touched up with more Juvéderm® injections if necessary. After that, you should not need to return for additional Juvéderm® injections for around six to nine months
